As a critical piece of equipment in the hydrogen energy industry chain, hydrogen compressors are characterized by low noise, minimal vibration, compact structure, smooth operation, high safety, reliability, and a high degree of automation. Hydrogen compressors are typically equipped with various alarm functions, including oil pressure alarm, low water pressure alarm, high temperature alarm, low inlet pressure alarm, and discharge pressure alarm. These alarm functions not only monitor the equipment status in real time but also take timely measures in abnormal situations to prevent equipment damage or safety incidents.

    Oil Pressure Alarm Function

Oil pressure is a critical parameter for the normal operation of the hydrogen compressor’s lubrication system. Insufficient oil pressure can increase friction in the compressor’s internal moving parts, leading to overheating or even damage. The oil pressure alarm function uses pressure sensors installed in the lubrication system to monitor oil pressure in real time. When the oil pressure falls below the set threshold, the system triggers an alarm and automatically shuts down to prevent the highly automated hydrogen compressor from operating under poor lubrication conditions. The oil pressure alarm helps operators promptly identify issues such as oil line blockages or pump failures, facilitating quick repairs.

    Low Water Pressure Alarm Function

During operation, hydrogen compressors generate a significant amount of heat, which must be dissipated through the cooling water system. If the cooling water pressure is insufficient, the equipment temperature may rise, affecting compression efficiency or even causing damage. The low water pressure alarm function monitors the pressure of the cooling water system. Once the water pressure is detected to be below the safe value, the system will issue an alarm signal and take corresponding measures (such as reducing the load or shutting down).

    High Temperature Alarm Function

During high-pressure operation, components such as cylinders, pistons, and exhaust valves in hydrogen compressors generate substantial heat. If the temperature is too high, it can not only reduce equipment efficiency but also cause material deformation or seal failure, leading to serious consequences such as hydrogen leakage. The high temperature alarm function uses temperature sensors to monitor the temperature of critical parts in real time. When the temperature exceeds the safe range, the system will immediately issue an alarm and activate protective mechanisms (such as increasing cooling water flow or shutting down).

    Low Inlet Pressure Alarm Function

The inlet pressure of a hydrogen compressor is a crucial parameter affecting its normal operation. If the inlet pressure is too low, the compressor may experience insufficient suction, leading to increased vibration, noise, and even damage. The low inlet pressure alarm function monitors the pressure in the intake pipeline. When the inlet pressure falls below the set value, the system will issue an alarm and take corresponding measures (such as adjusting the intake valve or shutting down) to prevent the low-noise hydrogen compressor from operating under abnormal conditions.

    Discharge Pressure Alarm Function

Discharge pressure is a key indicator of the hydrogen compressor’s output performance. If the discharge pressure is too high, it may cause overpressure in pipelines or gas storage equipment, posing an explosion risk. If the discharge pressure is too low, it may affect the normal operation of downstream equipment. The discharge pressure alarm function monitors the pressure in the discharge pipeline. When the pressure exceeds the safe range, the system will immediately issue an alarm and take protective measures (such as adjusting the discharge valve or shutting down).
